Graduating from Graduation
First, some mood music.
That’s better.
If my school experience up to this point was Lord of the Rings, I just walked home from Mordor to the Shire.
2 convocations in the same day gave me that Frodo feeling of completion. Glad it’s over, but definitely a journey I’ll never forget. And there may be more in my future.
Congrats to other members of the 2012 graduating class, especially those in CreComm. Learned a lot from all of you, and experienced things I’ll never forget. Amazing people.

For now though, something else awaits. In between convocations, I received a call from an organization I had interviewed with. Needless to say, words were said and before I knew it, I had moved into the next part of my career.
I am now a Marketing Coordinator at Blizzard Interactive. Gandalf would be proud.
Before you ask, this is not the organization behind Diablo, Warcraft or Starcraft. But, they are an internet marketing agency, and looks like it will be a great place to work. I’m excited about it (and by extension, you should be too).
With new opportunities comes a lot of change. Personally, I’ve still got some stuff to work on as far as a commitment to self-improvement goes, but it looks like some other things are in the cards over the next 6 months to a year too. Also, now that I have a regularly-scheduled job, I should be able to slot in some time to build my personal website. Look for it mid-to-end July — I’ve been inspired by www.johngaudes.com and of course, academic gold medalist and CPRS Student of the Year’s site www.ryanmcbride.ca .
In 3 words, life is good. Stan Bush is soundtracking me right now.
Till next time,
Mike
